Makuport biotech PROFILE (the company's history)

In 1961 : The first registration of the company (then called: Make-Kup) took place in order to confirm the business-cooperation between the Van Kuppeveld brothers.

In 1969 : The company, expanded and became a Company Limited (first Makuport Electronics b.v. later Makuport Biotech BV)

In 1982 : The Makuport Co.Ltd. decided to diversify its activities. Since, from the start it always had been the company's philosophy to quickly adapt to new developments ( for instance from the radiotube to the transistor in the seventies and into the chiptechnology in the eighties) , it was noted that the world became aware of something people had never thought of:

The Environment.

Huge (oil)-disasters took place with huge oiltankers all over the world in the early eighties.

Makuport had just made studies in the Biotechnical Science and the possibilities of using bacteria and enzymes for cleaning up the filthinesses caused by the flourishing world-industries and -transports around the globe.

Although working successfully, the first product, a biological nutriënt to be sprayed over oil-spills on surfacewaters, appeared not to be a commercial success, due to lack of guts of officials and authorities who prefered to keep on using old products that were

sprayed over oil-spills and made it sink (out-of-sight) to the bottom of the sea or canal. However Makuports name was established since a National TV-Broadcastingstation filmed and transmitted a 15 minutes long demonstration of Makuports new oil-remover in 1985. According to her philosophy, Makuport positions itself as the company inbetween science and practical needs .

For the science behind a newly developed product, requested by some party, there exist close relations with Dutch Universities.

Main products, always -easy and simple to handle- are mixtures of enzymes, bacteria and nutrients for cleaning drainpipes and fattraps, or waste-water itself.

Since 1990 several other bacteria/enzymes/nutrient mixtures are marketed, for microbiological degradation of mud in canals and lakes, which can simply and manually be spread out over the surface water like sowing seeds, or for cleaning drainpipes, or for stimulating plantgrowth or for removing stains on textiles, etc.

In 2006 : The company moved from Holland to Belgium (the centre of the EU-Community) and changed its name to: MAKUPORT BIOTECH at BREE - Belgium.

Makuport Biotech at first listens to the problems and wishes, then carefully analyses them and thereafter searches for the natural solution, i.e. by using natural (usually present) bacteria and enzymes for costreducing assistance in cleaning. Never manipulated bacteria are used. So , direct-touch as well as efficient worldwide distribution-services are offered by Makuport Biotech.
